Summer Day Camps

Join us this summer for our day camps which run on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at the Youth Centre.  The camps will run every week starting July 8th until August 21st.  Camp time will start at 9:00am and run until 3:00pm.  Don't worry if you need to drop your campers off early or pick them up later - we have extended care options!

These general recreation day camps provide opportunities to participate in a variety of structured leisure activities including sports, arts and crafts, quiet and active games, field trips, wet 'n wild days, and special events.  Additional fees may be charged for certain off site activities or field trips.

July 8th - 10th
Check out what the Youth Centre has to offer and get to know the summer leaders!  On Tuesday, we'll be building our own mini putt golf course and testing it out later on.  Wednesday afternoon we'll be headed to the beach to build sandcastles and play in the sand.  On Thursday, we're off to the Pinery Provincial Park to try paddle boating, have a picnic and go on a hike.

July 15th - 17th
We'll spend the week getting ready for our trip to the Toronto Zoo on Thursday!  We'll be playing a variety of animal-themed games and learning about the animals we'll be seeing at the zoo.  Bring in pictures of your favorite animal to share with the group!  The trip to the Zoo was hit last year and is sure to be again!

July 22nd - 24th
Bring your running shoes for a fun filled week of being outside and active!  On Tuesday, we'll hit the skateboard park to learn some new moves and practice some old ones.  We'll be on the basketball court on Wednesday shooting some hoops and running lay-ups with an experienced coach.  To end the week, we'll be going to the East Park Golf Gardens for a day of fun!

July 29th - 31st
Join us Tuesday for backyard camping!  There'll be camp games, sing-a-longs, ghost stories and s'mores, of course!  On Wednesday, we'll be off to the Dude Ranch where we will go on a trail ride, a hay ride and enjoy some outdoor fun.  We'll split up into 2 tribes on Thursday and see who can complete the challenges to become a true survivor.

August 5th - 7th
Bring a white t-shirt on Tuesday because we'll be making our very own tie-dye shirts.  The rest of the week you'll need your bathing suit because Wednesday we will be playing a variety of water games such as water balloons, water guns and trying out our new water slide!  Thursday, we're off to the Bluewater Fun Park for some slippery slides, bumper boats and pools.

August 12th - 14th
We'll begin the week by playing around with some cool science experiments.  We'll make a volcano erupt, turn a soda bottle into a motor boat and make some gooey ooze!  Wednesday, we'll make our very own haunted house at the centre, sending chills up everyone's spines.  Then we will each build our own magnetic rollercoaster to prepare for Thursday, which is our big trip to Canada's Wonderland!  Everyone loves the exhilarating roller coasters, so sign up early!

August 19th - 21st
Tuesday we will explore different cultures, food, games and crafts from around the world.  Bring in any souvenirs you may want to share with the group.  Wednesday, bring your dancing shoes and your singing voices because we'll be singing karaoke and dancing up a storm with our new Dance Dance Revolution game.  To end the summer, Thursday will be Carnival day!  There will be tons of carnival games and everyone will go home with a prize!
